In 2008 I began working with my mother at Garden of Praise
to create dynamic educational activities for her visitors. She is a retired elementary school teacher
and has used her years of experience to create a very popular site for teachers and students.
We created the following games and puzzles. - Elton

Jigsaw Puzzles were the first activity
we made. In addition to the Garden of Praise jigsaw puzzles, you can also work a jigsaw puzzle
for every published image on Songs of Praise. Go to the Inspirational Images
area to find an image and work a jigsaw puzzle.
There are Crossword Puzzles for Bible
stories, biographies and famous artists. If you get stumped, go back and read the story at Garden of Praise
again.
With the Memory Puzzles you search for matching
image pairs, remembering where you saw each picture. Try to minimize the number of clicks it takes you
to find all the pairs.
The Word Searches use basically
the same words as the crossword puzzle, but now you have to search for the words in a grid of letters.
It can be maddening. :-)
In the Word Scrambles, words from the
story are scrambled. All you have to do is put the letters in the correct order.
The Coloring Pages seem to be the most popular
activity of all. I looked far and wide for a Java applet that would be interesting to color with and
finally found this one. There are hundreds of pictures for Bible stories, biographies of famous
people, and famous paintings.

Who Am I puzzles come with 2 subjects, Bible Stories and
Biographies.
Art Puzzles are similar to Who Am I puzzles. They also come in 2 varieties, Who Is The Artist? and
Name The Painting.
